- Define the commercial lot clearly
- Collect representative increments across the lot
- Create a sufficiently large composite sample
- Grind and homogenize the representative sample thoroughly
- Take analytical portions only after homogenization
- Measure AFB1, AFB2, AFG1, AFG2 and Total Aflatoxin
- Retain reference samples where practical
- Compare results with buyer and destination requirements before release

Analytical methods
Independent laboratories may use validated HPLC fluorescence or LC-MS/MS methods depending on the market and agreed program. Commercial documentation should report numerical values rather than only a pass statement.
